All You Need:

1. A Computer, Tablet, or Smartphone

3. If you are going to take live video chat lessons, or want additional live feedback while taking my pre-recorded video courses, then you’ll also need a free copy of the “Zoom Desktop Client” software installed.

1.  Live Online Zoom Lessons
For live video chat lessons, you just need a computer connected to a broadband internet connection and the free "Zoom Desktop Client" video chat software installed.  Zoom is free!  The computer, tablet, or smartphone that you use, should also have a webcam and mic.  Most webcams now come with a built-in mic as well.

2.  Coming Soon! — Pre-recorded Video Courses!
For pre-recorded courses, you can use a computer, tablet, or smartphone, with a web browser to take the video courses.  Optionally, you will also need the "Marco Polo" app on your phone.  You will use it to send video messages (like email) back and forth with me for short bursts of video instruction and feedback.   (Note:  You must purchase the Marco Polo offer each time you send a message.)  

Ah! The multi-million dollar question! The answer to that question is: It depends!

• How fast do you learn as an individual?
• How long is your course? (They vary in length.)
• How much do you practice?
• How much do you participate in my online workshops, recitals and events?
• What level of professionalism are you striving for?

The list goes on and on.  I will always strive to take you as far as you are willing to go in music, but there are too many factors for anyone to answer that question truthfully.  It all just depends!

4 Easy Steps to get started with live Zoom video chat lessons:

1. PAYMENT:
   Purchase your live lessons.  You will be guided through the checkout process.
2. TALK WITH DOUG:
   Doug will Reach Out to You to schedule your 1st lesson.
   Doug uses Square Appointments:  After Doug schedules your 1st appointment, you will receive an email/text confirmation! The system will also automatically send you email reminders and even SMS Text Message Reminders to your phone if you opt-in for them.
3. Do check your email, because I will send you information to ensure that you get the best results from your online instruction.  Make sure you read these emails and take any additional steps necessary.

4. SOFTWARE – Set up the Zoom video chat software on your computer (and other devices) if taking live lessons with me:
   Install the “ZOOM Desktop Client” software onto your computer or tablet.  (Tip: If using a mobile device, log into a Wi-Fi connection to save your data plan!)

   That’s it!  Easy!

Operational Policy

1. PAYMENT: Subscriptions for live Zoom lessons must be paid in advance of booking the lesson.
2. MISSED LIVE LESSONS: Any missed live Zoom lesson WITHOUT a prior 24-hour cancellation notice will be charged to the student, without a refund.
3. CANCELED LIVE LESSONS:  For all missed live Zoom lessons in which a 24-hour advance notice WAS given, a courtesy make-up lesson will be offered according to the instructor’s availability. Floating make-up lessons cannot be used as any part of a “regular payment” for a subscription.  They are to be used as extra lessons scheduled during the week in addition to the student’s regular monthly payment.
4. TARDINESS:  All lessons will start on the hour or half-hour and end 5 minutes before the end of the paid lesson time giving Doug a 5-minute break between students.    Tardiness will be at the student’s expense.
5. METHOD BOOKS:  All method books are available to order from Amazon on the Materials Page.
6. OTHER MATERIALS: Any equipment or supplies, i.e.: webcam, laptop, blank CD-Rs, cassettes, sheet music, karaoke backing tracks, etc. will be the responsibility of the student.  Affiliate Links will be provided for these items online whenever possible.
7. GUARANTEE:  I offer a 100% satisfaction money back guarantee that you’ll love my online courses & live lessons.  If you don’t love them, just ask for a refund within the first 2 weeks, and I’ll give you your money back!  After 2 weeks, there are no refunds at any time, for any reason.
8. Privacy Policy

This policy (together with our terms of website use Terms of Use and any other documents referred to on it) sets out the basis on which we will process any personal data we collect from you, or which you provide to us, in the course of using our site https://mymusicexpert.com (“site”).

YOUR INFORMATION

When you use our site, there are a number of ways in which you provide information and other data to us. By using the site, you consent to us processing and collecting this data, on the terms and for the reasons which are explained below.

HOW YOUR INFORMATION IS USED

We may use your information to:

• send you our newsletters and videos from time to time.
• ensure that content from our site is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer.
• provide you with information, products or services that you request from us or which we feel may interest you, where you have consented to be contacted for such purposes.
• carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us.
• allow you to participate in interactive features of our service when you choose to do so.
• notify you about changes to our service.
• occasionally post updates via our social media feeds using only your first name and the first letter of your last name when you first begin lessons or hit milestones in your education such as completing a course.
• re-share media that you have publicly shared on Facebook, YouTube, etc with our own social media feeds, as we are proud of our students, and enjoy helping promote them.

If you do not want us to use your information for marketing purposes, contact us directly by emailing [email protected]. Please note that if you click on, or follow, any links from our site to external websites, our privacy policy will no longer apply. Please check the privacy policies of any such external site before submitting any personal data, as we cannot accept any responsibility or liability in relation to them. We do not store the credit or debit card details of any of our customers.

DATA STORAGE

All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. Any payment transactions will be encrypted using SSL technology. We take your privacy very seriously and will take all reasonable steps to protect your personal data, but please be aware that any data which you send to our site is sent at your own risk. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

GDPR

What: We will collect data such as: First Name, Last Name, Phone Number, Physical Address, Company name, Job title, Lead Source, Fax, Social Media links, completed forms, orders, credit card numbers, birthday, username, password, assistant/spouse name, anniversary, meeting date, meeting time, meeting link, youtube recording links, tags, and list of things you opt into.

How: The data we collect from you is only that which is willingly given to us. We do not use bots, spam, or torrent purchasing to collect data on you that you do not give us willingly.

Use: We will only use your data within our own company. We will NEVER sell your data or give it without your consent to another company or 3rd party. We use your data to email you things you’ve opted into or requested, to process purchases and/or credit card transactions, to send a newsletter and videos, for meeting reminders, or for call recordings. It is unlawful for any software, company, 3rd party, employee, contractor, or the like associated with MyMusicExpert.com or not, to use, process, or collect data from anyone on MyMusicExpert.com’s list without the express written consent of working on behalf of MyMusicExpert.com, or the express written consent of the Identifiable Natural Person. Passwords that may be generated after the purchase of a course or product are done so at random inside of Memberium and stored inside of Infusionsoft. Although the data is encrypted, secured, and will never be used or sold, it is not recommended that the Person use a password that they already have for another program/company/entity, especially one that is used for sensitive data.

Security: All of your personal data is saved inside of Infusionsoft. Infusionsoft as a Data Processor is compliant with GDPR. All of your data is encrypted on an Infuisonsoft Server and saved behind a password-protected login, the login of which MyMusicExpert.com has chosen to encrypt as well for additional security.

3rd Party/Data Processors: We use Infusionsoft as our CRM to house your data. We use Memberium and WordPress to grant access to courses. We use Gmail and Google Suite for our MyMusicExpert.com email correspondence. We use LearnDash in conjunction with Memberium. LearnDash will only keep a record of the course(s) that you have completed and any grades you received. We use MyFusionHelper to run actions that Infusionsoft does not do natively such as: adding your email address into a Facebook custom audience, adding or subtracting numbers from custom fields inside of Infusionsoft for the purpose of keeping track of credits or numbers. We use Square Appointments to create and manage appointments. Square Appointments will only ever access MyMusicExpert.com’s calendar and will only ever use your name, email, and phone number if you provide that information. We use Freshbooks to track billable time for our clients. Your data in Freshbooks is only the amount of your invoices if they’ve been paid or not, if the invoice(s) have been viewed by you, the date of invoice, the amount of collected time tracked, project name(s), first name, last name, and email address. We bill through Infusionsoft Payments via WePay or PayPal. Your credit card information could be subject to the GDPR compliance of WePay and PayPal as well.

Control: Everyone with data saved inside of any of MyMusicExpert.com’s apps, software, or 3rd party integrations has the right to view this data at any time.

Cookies: We will use cookies/pixels for Facebook ads and Referral Tracking links. You have the right to clear your browser history and cache at any time and remove these from your browser/computer.

Rights: You have the right to access the data we keep on your record. You have the right to object to marketing, data collection, and processing at any time. You have the right to complain. You have the right to be informed about how we process your data. You have the right to data portability. You have the right to compensation. You have the right to rectification. If you exercise the right to be forgotten, it may require you to surrender your ability to access lessons or courses you’ve purchased from MyMusicExpert.com. You have the right to automated decision-making. You have the right to restrict processing. You have the right to prove legal grounds for processing.

Please check this page regularly, as we may revise this acceptable use policy at any time. We may also change or update our acceptable use policy at any time by means of notices published anywhere on our site.

DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION

We may be required to disclose your personal information to any of our group companies (which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company, and its subsidiaries, and also to third parties in the following circumstances: –

• to any prospective seller or buyer of all (or part of) our business or assets;
• if we are required to do so by law, any applicable regulation or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ourselves or others. This may include disclosing to other companies and organizations in connection with fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

ACCESS TO INFORMATION

You have the right under the General Data Protection Act to access the information which we hold about you. If you wish to exercise this right, please send your request to [email protected].  In order to meet our costs in responding, we will charge you a fee of £10.

When making use of these facilities, it is your responsibility to ensure that any contribution or interaction is, as far as you are aware, factually correct, represents your honest opinion, and does not breach any applicable law or regulation.
